~ Daddy's Are For Loving ~

Picture

Daddy's are for loving, Daddy's very strong
My Daddy is so special, My Daddy's name is love
Daddy tells me it's alright, without a word to say
He just has to be there and everything's okay
Daddy's are for fixing, they know what's best to do
I just trust him anyway, that is what is true
We don't talk so very much, somehow I think he understands
I don't know why or such, my Daddy is a man
Daddy's are for doing stuff, we get out and play
He is so full of fun and laughs, I love Daddy every day.

Cakes to say Thank you Dad
A Father who is truly 'there' for his children is a 'Tower of Strength' for his little ones.
The storms of life will blow against the family unit,
and no one can stand them, as calmly as a Dad, who is sure of his place in God's Kingdom.
Taking his place and seeing his role to his children, as our Heavenly Father is to his people,
brings a strength to the family that leads to security, rest, and discovery.

~ My Father - My Friend
Today is the time to ponder
why you are, who you are to me
Is it for what you give

or what it is for me to be.
Do I love you just because

you come home every night
And are always there for me

in case I get a fright.

Could I consider you my friend
because I ask you for advice
When I have a curly problem

and you guide me very wise.
Would I be glad for your presence

a strength on which to lean
Do I love the way you laugh

and sometimes tickle me.

Do I think of you as having faith
able to face another day.
If you were as any other
would I love you anyway.
Might I admire your manly traits
your deep voice and robust  ways
Dad, I'm so glad God gave you me
Have a Happy Father's Day today.

Memories Of My Dad~

Dad, so many times you took me
Out to the world and back
In all of our adventures
And fun we loved to have

You carried me when I was small
Then held my little hand
Until it was a prayer and hug

That life I'd understand

Now you might think your time is done
that your leading is no more
With no more curly problems
That I might need you for

But, never feel like that Dad
For your love I'll always need
To take me to the very end

I'll need all that you can give

Yes, now we walk together
I know you need me too

As much as I require your love-
I will be loving you

~ Daddy and Me ~
There's two that are the best of friends, that's the Daddy one you see
He's the bigger one, and that's the little me.
With Daddy by my side, we do stuff, we get along,
Like what we'll always do, because we're big and strong.
And, now it's Daddy's day, so I'm sending him a great big "Hi"
Have a happy day all day Daddy...I love you so, goodbye.

~ My Dad's The Best ~
Oh yes, My Dad's the One, the catch of the day, I've got him, hook line and sinker I say,
He's all mine, you're too late, 'cause I'm his best bait.
When he calls me a can of worms, so full of squirm,
But that's OK by me, because he only chortles it, with that twinkle in his eye,
He's the greatest of all Dads everywhere and here's the reasons why...

You love your kids, you're good at woodwork,
And like being our friend, well, between those long wise talks.
You're devoted to your real vocation to get the money to take us all on vacation,
You're clever with a ball and bat (but giving blood, you don't like that.)
Old time music you just love to play and bills on time, you're keen to pay,
You fill the bin with all the mess, but then, always like to look your best.
You're the King of the road for sure
And so handy at fixing up the car, well, at mending everything, you're quite the star,

So the whole bunch of us would like to say
We love you Dad so very much.

Derry's Heart Poems © 2004
God took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature, the comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle's flight,
The joy of a morning in Spring, the faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity, the depth of a family need,
Then, God combined these qualities, when there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete, and so, He called him ... Dad

~ Messenger Of Love ~
Dad, you infused all of my life with rich colour in the night
Filled my mind with imagination, to overflow my heart with light
You kept your quiet abiding presence, to wipe away the tears
A rock of strength to meet my needs and calm my childhood fears
You stood up high to give your best, the life of you, to me
To show me goodness of our God, then with wisdom set me free
My heart feels only gratitude, for all your daily care
Your trustworthy commitment, was always gently there
And now, I pray I bring you joy, whene'er you look at me
As a part of you remains forever, for you to always see.

Have a Happy Father's Day - But don't walk too fast Dad,
I can't keep up if you do - You're the best I could ever have.

Music click ~♫  Daddy Don't You Walk So Fast♫

Sometimes your steps are very fast, sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower Daddy, for you are leading me.
Someday when I’m all grown up, You’re what I want to be.
Then I will have a little child who’ll want to follow me.
“Walk a Little slower, Daddy.” said a little child so small.
I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall.
And I would want to lead just right, and know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy, for I must follow you!!

~ Gun It Dad ~
Power it Dad, gun the gears, as we watch you go,
Right from the starting line, you sure control the road.
Let her rip, give her throttle, tear up the burning rubber,
Pedal to the metal, lead foot it on the double.
Hug the corners, drive the straights, gun it more to hold the lead,
You've got what it takes, to travel at high speed.
For being the greatest father, you surely can succeed,
My admiration today and always, I want you to receive.

~ World's Best Dad ~
As a man you must feel it in your spirit and deep within your soul,
There is a place for you, one you can surely know.
As you walked along life's fairway, seeking for your swing,

You found how to be real, in searching for 'your thing'.
Life brought to you some blows, like grief and war and hurt,
Yet you kept on praying, your heart would not be burnt.
Tempted to shrink back in the shadows, for the distance seemed too far,
You were determined to find in life, the authentic swing you are.
God told You He was your guide, He's been with you all along,
As you walked within the course, you knew which traps were wrong.
Thank you, for your wisdom, for lining up with faith to see,
You got the hole in one... Thank you, you are the one for me.

Dad, Thank You For The Music ~
Dad, I thank you for the music,
for the love in you that shines,
I could never be more glad
,
God chose you to be mine.
Because you are so special,
the only sonnet I can play,
Is for a Father's day, most blessed,
this, I sincerely pray.
My heart feels only gratitude
,
for all your daily care,
Your commitment to life's ballad

always gently there.
I'm glad of how you played
each bar,
eternal love to know,
In sharing of your Father love,
a forever theme you've shown.

For that's the very greatest gift to me,
that you could give,
As you cared enough to sing-
that I will ever live.
You whistled me a love song
,
for every hill I climbed,
I thank God for the special Dad
,
that always, will be mine.
The only music I will hear today
is your love, within my heart,
To proclaim your very best
,
the man of God you are.
Thank you for your song of life
,
for the years we've had together,
For giving me love's symphony..

You're my No#1.... forever.

I'm so grateful and proud..all I want, is to sing it out loud....so I say, Thank you for the music,
the songs I'm singing
Thanks for all the joy they're bringing, so I say
thank you for the music, for giving it to me

~ Happy Father's Day No#1 ~
When my father loved my mother and made a cozy home,
They decided to have me, so they wouldn't be alone.
They didn't have to choose me, to fill up their empty hearts,
But, I am sure thankful, their lives were sabotaged.
By night my Dad would walk the floor, then still work hard by day,
And when he came back home again, I'd drag him out to play.

I didn't hear him grumble much, he'd just grin at me and say,
Ah, you make putty of a man, but that's a woman's way.
I never then did figure, why he thought me so grown up,
How could I know I was a mini version, of my mother's heart.

As with a twinkle in his eye, he'd do everything I asked,
Whatever project was on the go, he'd work on my behalf.
Ah, my Father has been good to me, all the years we've been together,
But, you know what is the best..

He'll be Dad No#1 forever.

~ Daddy's Breakfast ~
Rest back now dear Daddy,
Pillows plumped, for dawn is breaking,
I say, be warm and snuggled in
For breakfast's on its way.
Buttered croissant just for you,
A pot of favourite tea,
Fruit compote for your treat,
All from the heart of me.
So wake up warm, dear Daddy,
Love today is knocking at your door,
Knock-knock, stay right there,
Your tea I've come to pour.
Love you always dear Daddy
for sure,
that's what a Daddy's for...

 ~There's Daddy's ~
There's Daddy's with a great big love
and a father heart to give
A pride in their own child,

a life of love to give
There's Daddy's with the time,

to share it every day
A word, a smile, a squeeze,

to send us on our way
There's Daddy's with the sacrifice,

to provide us everything
Our clothing, food and shelter,

every need to bring
There's Daddy's with a loving prayer,

for every hill we climb
I thank God for the special Dad,

He said would be mine

~ A Card For Dad ~
Today could have been just another day, but then I thought of you,
as I do, and before another minute passed I knew I had to share this card with you
You are so precious in my life, my heart to you belongs
as always I want to say how much you mean, before another day is gone
Thank you for being the Father that you are, the love in you that shines forever
I could never be more glad God chose you to be mine.

Music click ~♫ Daddy's Little Girl♫

A little girl needs Daddy, for many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music that tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with the terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain, that rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home when all else falls apart.
Like giving her the love that is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high, she'll always find him there.

Picture
~ My Shining Star My Dad
God needed someone very special
Strong and sturdy too,
To protect all of the family
With great fortitude.
He looked at the majestic mountain
But that was way too high,
Then at a gigantic tree
Not soft enough to be a guy.

The sun too bright, the moon too dim
He'll need to think and plan and scheme,
To build and understand
And hold lots of love within.
A gentle heart, a power to work
Grit to endure, a humorous quirk,
A spring in his step and twinkle in his eye
Muscle to lift and spirit to fly.

So, of His own image,
He moulded man
And made Himself an eternal friend,
To share His fatherly ways
He put His heart within.
For when he walks upright with God
A man will display His glory too

And as a masterpiece of faith to live
He is a Father of true attribute.
Thankyou so much Dad
for being our shining star
today we express our gratitude.

Daddy's girl ~
They say I look like Daddy
That's hard for me to know,
He just looks so big and strong
Don't think like him I'll grow.
But, oh I love him so
'Cause he's my Daddy friend,
When I hear him at the door
That's when it can begin.

I pull him to his chair
And scramble on his knee,
Then look in all his pockets
To see what's there for me.

He blows raspberries on my cheek
To make me giggle so with glee,
Then he lifts me on his shoulders
To take us for our tea.

Every girl should have a Daddy
To make her world secure,
But there's lots of darling cherubs
Only loneliness endure.
For some Daddies walk away
Or are so busy at their toil,
Overwhelmed with the cares of life
To love a little girl.

But, God's watching from above
With eyes so full of love,
He sees her as His treasured pearl
Forever safe as Daddy's girl.

~ Father's Love A Safe Harbour ~
Dear Dad, I just want to say, your love is such a safety net,
A place where my tender heart, can be securely kept.
I'm glad that you have mirrored an eternal love to know,
In sharing of your Fatherly love, a lasting love you've shown.
For that is surely the greatest gift, to me you could ever give,
As you care enough for me, that I will forever live.
Today I want to thank you for your love-
a safe harbour for me to shelter in.

~ Treasured Moments
Dad you blessed me with so much,
 now this blessing
I pray for you to know,
to hold close to your heart,
wherever you may go.
May every moment that you live,
overflow with peace and love,

Just as the sun fills up the sky,
may God protect you from above.
May your heart be filled with courage,
by your faith in Christ as Lord,

To lift your wings above the strife,
 for blessing all the more.
May each day you rise to give,
return to you deep joy within,
To enlarge your heart with tender love,
for the Dad you've always been.

Thank you, I love you always
for every treasured moment shared,
It is hard to put into words,
everything I mean.

Time is written in volumes three,
The past, the present, and yet to be
The past is written, and laid away,
The present Father's love, we're living day by day
And yet to be, greatest of volumes three,
Is hidden from our sight,
Our Heavenly Father holds the key

A Father's Touch ~
There's a very special way
a Father always is,

He has a style his own, unique,
and if lost, is sorely missed.

For, a father's touch reflects the ways
of God's own heart,

The care and the protection
a man alone imparts.

God made a father just so
for reasons that He knows,

To bring to us the balance,
He gives to make a home.

A child will be secure
when covered by that love,

Encircled in the Father's heart,
extending from above.

Yes, a father's love is vital,
a
 touch of the divine,
God grants to us a father,
His Father heart to find.

So, if we have a loving father,
we'll see The Father's heart,

But, if for us, 'twas somewhat less,
then, we'll crave what God imparts

He knows, whichever way,
by HIS touch, we're ever blessed.

A truly rich man is one whose children
run into his arms when they are empty.

~ Dad, Cuppa And Cake ~
A very nice warm cuppa and a hug for your dear heart,
And a chocolate cake I send to you, my loving to impart.

May your moments then be glad, as there you sit and sip,
While I reminisce about you to cheer you up a bit.

You've been my special Daddy, these many years and more,
So much that you have shown me That today you might stand tall.

I am glad God blessed me so, with a Dad as fine as you,
I am glad He sought fit to give me a Daddy good and true.
This card I know is not as good, as seeing me each day,
But in being near, dear Dad How close our hearts can stay.....
Do have a great Father's day whatever happens on your way

This year, you receive the trophy Dad for being my father,
the best I could ever have
Dad, thankyou for all that you are, in being my father,

cherished of heart.
You deserve this award in every way, for being so swell

I present it this day
God bless you Dear Dad in all that you do

I'll always be yours, I'll always love you.

~Happy Father's Day Dad~
Happy Father's day dearest Dad
I just want to send a hug,
Cause you're the very special
Father that I love

I bring to you these words
 to bless your heart today
That Jesus fill your heart with joy,
 to warm your heart always
To touch your life with loveliness
for that is what you are, lovely,

dear and special, wonderful of heart
So please take this from me now
and tuck it deep inside
To know I'm always loving you,
 with a very special pride
 Love n' hugs Dad

for a very lovely day.

Days are gone when I measured my height.
 by standing by your side
Days are gone, when I tried to follow your steps,
your manners, your stride.....

~ My Dad My Friend ~
When my father sees me
using all the skills that he began

I can see his smile inside,
as I gently hold his hand

When my father knows I follow,
all the values he has formed

I know that he is glad,
my little life was born

When my father gives to me,
the things that he has used

I know they are for me,
so his love will be continued

When my Dad pats me on the arm,
I know that he is glad

That I am his special child,
and that he is my Dad

......These are the days when dear daddy
I want to tell you already
You have been a special mentor, a very special friend
And a very very special Dad
Of love that never ends.

~ Gentle Loving Father ~
There is a Father's day to say ' Thank  You', to the One who made us all,
The perfect Father up above, the One who makes us whole.
The Father full of wondrous love, the One who's life we share,
Who will never go away and all our heartache bears.

The Father of our yesterdays, our todays, tomorrows and for all time,
Close, all through the darkest night and trusted to be kind.
The Father to hear our every word, every thought to understand,
The One that we can keep forever, holding tightly to our hand.
For every day is Father's day,
with the One who always stays.

The Lord is my Father, He keeps me alway.
And when I am wilful, and from Him I stray,
He seeks me and finds me, He is not far away.
He guides me and shepherds me, day after day.

~ My Father's Heart ~
I reached deep into my heart, looking for the words to say,
I searched the recesses of my mind, for all I could convey.
I pondered long on all you've done, how I grew within your heart,
As you gave up your life to give, all you could e'er impart.
I tried to compose something, that you and I alone could know,
As I felt a deep emotiom, about how I am your own.
Then I wondered if I could ever find the eloquence divine,
But cannot find sweeter words, than, thankyou Dad, I love you
Forever more you're mine.

Thanks Dad, being with you is enough.. I know I am loved..

The first observance of Father’s Day actually took place in Fairmont, West Virginia on July 5, 1908.
It was organized by Mrs. Grace Golden Clayton, who wanted to celebrate the lives
of the 210 fathers who had been lost in the Monongah Mining disaster several months earlier
in Monongah, West Virginia, on December 6, 1907. In 1972, it became an official U.S. holiday.
Father’s Day is celebrated 3rd Sunday of June in USA, UK and on 1st Sunday of September in Australia.

Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.
Bill Cosby

We may not shower him with praise, nor mention his name in song,
And sometimes it seems that we forget the joy he spreads as he goes along
But it doesn't mean that we don't know, the wonderful role that he has had.
And away down deep in every heart, there's a place that is just for Dad.....
~Author Unknown~
A father is someone that holds your hand at the fair, makes sure you do what your mother says,
holds back your hair when you are sick, brushes that hair when it is tangled because mother is too ill,
lets you eat ice cream for breakfast but only when mother is away,
he walks you down the aisle, and tells you everything's gonna be ok
