~ The Beach Is Ours Today ~
Come, take my hand, let's go Explore beyond the way Let's skip among the sandhills For the beach is ours today Come, walk the path of sunshine 'Neath skies of deepest blue We'll twirl and laugh and play all day And enjoy the pretty view Let's go, to race the breeze And dance within the waves Throw bubbles in the air Praise God for all He made We'll walk and walk, 'til we are tired And talk of all we know But leave a trail of footprints To find our way back home Soft whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2008 [email protected] Sunbeams are angel kisses.
Sunshine melts your heart. Sunshine is God smiling.
Love is the universal sun. |
~ Beach Time Now~
It's beach time now, the days are long As seagulls chirp, where we belong Here walking on this breezy shore To warble soft our happy song It's beach time now, let's laze about And gaze on water's cool The waves awash with mirror hues Of rippling crystal jewels It's beach time now, umbrella shade Bear towels as dripping things Of shelter, in the burning heat Sand blasting in the wind It's beach time now, come rest with me Within this shady nook We'll sip and sigh o'er icy tea All thoughtful as we look It's beach time now, as dearest friends The days are always warm Walking here, on sunny shores In joy of heaven's dawn Soft whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2008 [email protected] Poetry from the Heart |
To spend a day on the beach with a friend,
must be one of God's finest gifts. To run within the spray, and wiggle toes in the sand, to lie on the dampness under the bright blue sky, listening to wavelets, watching clouds fly across the sky, has to be a little bit of heaven... ~ blossoms~ |
"Come walk with God in morning light
In skies aglow with golden night Come walk with Him in heaven's dawn and listen long....for love is born." ~Blossoms~ Don't grow up too quickly, lest you forget how much you love the beach. Michelle Held |
A real friend is someone who takes a winter vacation on a sun-drenched beach
and does not send a card.
Farmer’s Almanac
"maggie and millie and molly and may"
maggie and millie and molly and may
went down to the beach (to play one day)
and maggie discovered a shell that sang
so sweetly she couldn't remember her troubles, and
millie befriended a stranded star
who's rays five languid fingers were;
and molly was chased by a horrible thing
which raced sideways while blowing bubbles: and
may came home with a smooth round stone
as small as a world and as large as alone.
For whatever we lose (like a you or a me)
it's always ourselves we find in the sea. - E. E. Cummings

~ Beach Afternoon ~
In the good old time for beach Roll out those sunny days, It's time to leave the house bring on the lemonade- Call all your nicest friends Bring oranges and peach, Hamburger rolls and salad And gather at the beach. Find delightful praise- Where everything is cool, Chat on holidays Forget about the school. Ask the Father how to plan- For all His way be done. It's the time to celebrate The heat is turning on. The Creator whisked away the frost-
And bid it all be gone. Now watch the clouds go scudding by In the sky where warmth belongs. What better way to thrill In His gift to me and you- Than to thank Him for the joy Of a beach fun afternoon. Soft Whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2005 [email protected] Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God; but only he who sees, takes off his shoes; The rest sit round it and pluck blackberries. ~ Pretty Beach Days ~
There's something very pretty About the warmth of beach time play Just walking in the sunshine Soaking up the rays Meandering on the beach Watching frothy wavelets play Balmy breezes whispering Secrets on their way Choosing shells to decorate Of pearly rainbow hue Listening to seagulls Calling from the blue Making footprints in the sand Watching fish swim by Sitting on a towel to dream While gazing at the sky Climbing on the rugged rocks
The reef of little pools Finding crabs, a minnow Smiling gratitude Each wavelet there unfurling Bringing wonder true, Unfolding special treasures And memories anew. Soft Whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2005 [email protected] All labours draw home at even,
And can to others say, "Thanks to the gracious God of heaven, Who sent this lovely day." Alexander Hume |

~ I think I Miss You ~
I miss you, I don't know why, something's missing deep inside
Your heart so near, yet far away,
So when I build a sandcastle in the air, I create thinking - this is what you'd like,
And in the gentle waves, lapping back and forth, I see your smile
Back and forth, in and out, close and warm.
Leaving trails on my heart, my fingers sink into the sand,
I feel each grain, the coolness, yet as if not feeling, for my mind is not here, but there
For I like the way we care,
I can hear you stepping in the sand behind
I don't need to turn, your heart's already mine.

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient.
One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach -- waiting for a gift from the sea.

One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach; one can collect only a few,
and they are more beautiful if they are few.
