Moments tick by with never ending loneliness
Missing the heart you love, in the finality of loss
Longing for their loving touch
They say.. closure, end, completion
But to see their face no more
to endure another day...withdraw, alone, you mourn.
For every breath remembers
Each tender moment spent
Your heart cries out the sadness... with every tear you shed
you cry and cry and cry...
'Til spent, you look up through the cloud
And see God's ray of light
Knowing, He alone will hold the hope
His love, your only flight.
Hold on, my child, He whispers soft
This life is but a blink
Your darling one is safer home.... much warmer than you think
You will be brave, I'll keep you yet I am your life,
your breath
Your existence walked, each step now in my strength...
Lean hard my child, breathe in My love,
my hope,
my soul,
You are mine, I will uphold you, I know your pain,
I felt it all...
And from this day, this hour, in my arms I bear you home
My love is yours,

Sometimes our sorrow overwhelms us so much that we no longer can believe in joy.
Life just seems a cup filled to the brim with war, violence, rejection, loneliness, and endless disappointments.
At times like this we need our friends to remind us that crushed grapes can produce tasty wine.
It might be hard for us to trust that any joy can come from our sorrow, b
ut when we start taking steps in the direction of our friends' advice,
even when we ourselves are not yet able to feel the truth of what they say,
the joy that seemed to be lost may be found again and our sorrow may become livable.

No matter the set-back, struggle or strife
We can be at peace, in the dark of the night..
Because we know there's a plan
God carries us through, by the power of His hand.
He has greater secrets to bond in our hearts,
If we just wait, hushed, for all He'll impart.
To know there's a purpose, will help us to find,
a peace and a joy from God who is kind.
The Saviour has promised, that good will befall,
As God works together, for the best in it all.
Knowing joy, is not found in what's going on,
but in trusting the Lord, though life's feeling wrong.
We can know God's true love,
or thrash in the doubt, asking more questions
too hard to work out..
But to worry, to fret, to struggle and fight,
just makes us feel worse,
Til resting in Him, there, comforts the hurt.
The peace and the joy that comes from His love
Opens new doors, as God bring new gifts

A Prayer for the Brokenhearted
Father of the brokenhearted one...
Oh, hear our prayer...
Give Your dear one the wisdom to know:
Hiding when you're hurting won't heal you
and growing isolated can just let infection grow.
Give Your dear one the love to live:
The secret way to heal a broken heart is to let love leak out
like an ocean through all the cracks.
The best way to tend to your open wounds is to open your arms...
When you have Jesus on the inside, you're never on the outside...
When God's Love has got hold of you,
there isn't a lie in the universe that can pull you apart.
And may all their trials be but a trail, all the stones on the way...
be but grace stairs to God.
In name of Jesus who broke His heart to heal ours...Amen.

~ Grief's Questions ~
and there are many types of loss..
The sadness of heart wrenching grief/loss can churn our heart with a lot of questions
1. What do we need from who-ever/whatever we have lost..
can we find that love in the Lord, He is with us, He is whispering secrets, we need them now
2. Is part of the ache a longing for life to be as it was.
Does God have a new door, a way of living we never knew before.
3. Is it ever possible to be happy, that they are happy.
God loves them, He loves us, He cries as we cry, He holds us close.
4. Do we feel responsible to them / for them in some way.
Can we let God look after them and put the past behind,
let it go and feel loved, no matter what we did or didn't do.Today is a new day of love.
5. Do we feel we need them/what we lost- to keep going.
Do we believe God has a power we can live in, that we will find because we desperately need God now.
6. Are we able to get a glimpse, a hope, of eternity/security -as God sees.
7. Are we scared of where they are..Do we imagine heaven, the beauty, the joy.
Do we feel they have gone somewhere strange - or somewhere safe.
Can we picture them as like a planted seed, now blooming forever- safer there than here.
As a grain of wheat gives the old away- it rises to new life-
as winter gives way to spring.
8. Is the hurt an anger pain, or a missing them ache,
how do we transfer the hurt to believing God knows best.
9. We all die, we all must die..and someone always has to be left behind.
Is death a gift, for them and us.
Are we able to see this change as a door to something new God has planned,
10. Would we know God or crave heaven as much, if we didn't have a loss drawing us to heaven.
11. Would we want them back here [to die again and feel earth's sorrows again.]
12. Do we wonder why God changes our lives, different to how we think it should be.
13. Who is it, maybe it's society that says how life should be, to be happy -
Is it always that the loss a child, means a parent should have gone first?
Is there any relief if a child goes first, that they won't have the grief of losing a parent.
Does sympathy sometimes cause us to feel more hurt and confusion .. or comfort.
A husband may realise he loves his wife so much, that he becomes relieved she went first-
because he wouldn't want her going through the grief of losing him-
[knowing he is stronger emotionally.]
No matter what answers we work out for questions,
death/loss of anything- still makes us grieve,
but often we can work out some peace from thinking through questions,

Hope For The Broken Hearted
This is a good way to describe how we learn to cope with the death of a loved one.
For people to say " just let go" or "get over it"... well, you never really get over the loss of someone you love...
your relationship doesn't stop, it changes...you don't stop loving them...
they don't stop being your parent, spouse, child, sibling, etc....
With God's help, you can learn to live without them physically present in your life.
He will help you to not grieve as those who have no hope.
You will be able to learn to smile, move forward and live again,
which is what our loved ones would want us to do!
God does wipe our tears and bind our wounds and His love and grace helps us to do,
what at first seems impossible to do...to live without those whom we love being physically present.
