We become greater than the angels
A frequently asked questions is, "do we become angels when we die?"
The answer to that question is, no.
Here are some scriptural references to check and some links as well.
It brings comfort to many to think that their loved ones are watching over us
as their own guardian angels,
but the truth is,
we were created differently than angels
and nowhere in scripture does it say we become angels.
Here is what Billy Graham has to say on the subject...
The truth is, when we die and go to heaven we become even greater than the angels!
The angels are spiritual beings who were created by God to be His servants,
and God has given them great authority and power to do His will.
And at the present time the angels are greater than we are, because God made us
"a little lower than the heavenly beings" (Psalm 8:5).
But the Bible also says that in heaven we will be higher than the angels--
and the reason is because we will be like Christ. The Bible says,
"Do you not know that we will judge angels?" (1 Corinthians 6:3).
While this verse may be referring to the rebellious angels who chose to follow Satan,
it still implies that our status after death will be above that of the angels.

Humans have physical bodies. Angels do not.
“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14 NIV)
2. Humans can die. Angels cannot.
“...and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.” (Luke 20:36 NIV)
3. Humans can be saved (forgiven of their sins and promised eternal life.) Angels cannot.
“For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.” (Hebrews 2:16 NIV)
4. Humans who believe in Christ as their Savior can become heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ.
These same blessings are not available to angels.
“It is not to angels that he has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.”
(Hebrews 2:5 NIV)
5. We are specifically commanded in the Scriptures not to worship angels.
Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’”
And he added, “These are the true words of God.”
At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it!
I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus.
Worship God!”
(Revelation 19: 9-10a NIV)

I don’t know for certain, but I do know that as believers, we have angels in our lives.
Every Christian does.
What The Bible tells us...
“The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7).
Psalm 91:11 tells us, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
And Hebrews 1:14 says of angels,
“Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?”
Also in Hebrews 13:2, we read that “some have unwittingly entertained angels”.
That is an interesting thought, isn’t it? Maybe you have met an angel.
If you have, you probably wouldn’t know it.
I doubt that an angel would tell you he is an angel.
(By the way, when we read about angelic appearances in the Bible, angels always appear as males.)
No one can say for certain whether we have guardian angels,
ut something Jesus said would imply that perhaps children have guardian angels.
He said, “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones,
for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven”
(Matthew 18:10).
This is reassuring, knowing how easily children can get themselves into trouble.
But even if they don’t have a personalized angel,
we can know that angels are involved in their lives.
And angels are involved in the lives of Christians.
We have angelic activity around us every day. Angels are at work in our lives, protecting us,
