~ There Is A Key ~
There is a key to mysteries, a key that I can't hold
But, there is One who turns the locks
With key of precious gold.
He holds the key that I cannot, for life I can't control
He bids what comes, then bids it go
For all that is His goal.
He forms the plans I cannot see, for all His love may send,
My part is but, to trust that He
Is always my best friend.
He's choosing what will alter me, to strip me of the dross,
The what of me, that's not of heaven
And is but worth the loss.
God holds the key, yet grants me much, that I can choose to do
So I must ask Him constantly
What way will lead to truth.
For there are doors this way and that, I do not know which ones,
Are right and good or needful
So God, I have to trust.
There are the times He opens wide, a door that leads to pain,
But I will learn it is a gift
For what will lead to gain.
He holds the key to all unknown, unknown is all there is,
Unknown each moment, future days,
The keys are only His.

~ Keeping Us Together ~
There are many variations, that drive relationships apart
Like culture, food and hobbies, belief and troubled hearts.
Music, age and illness, language, money, art,
Distance, faith and dress,
Or words like piercing darts.
But what keeps us together, what miracle takes place
That families, people, friends
Can ever find the grace, to move as one in union
With common interest, drive-
However does it happen, that for oneness we can strive.
We know it is necessity, God's key for life is planned
We need each other so - foundations of society are how we all are known-
As spouses, parents, children, kin,
With our eternal spirits, God put us into homes.
He gave us varied talents, we can't survive alone,
We need relationships, connection,
Affection, affirmation, laughter, music, fun.
Identity, creative flair, a place to feel at home.
Someone to share the joy and sorrow
Some place to call our own.

~ Complexities ~
Sometimes it's hard in families, to keep it all content
There's many complex issues
That arise to cause upset.
The tender ones get hurt, by words that fly in jest
And underlying heartaches
Surface then to bring unrest.
If it's discussed, we know, confusion may result
But, then if nothing is resolved
More hurt is piled on top.
And so we pray Lord Jesus, give us love from You,
Heal our hearts from fear
So pain will not accrue.
Help us all to work out, the ones we need to seek,
To sort out what's behind the mysteries
So You can heal the rift.
Grant us courage from your heart, to speak and act in love,
So we won't be afraid by all that's said and done.
In You we are secure, we trust You hold the key
Of love that keeps us safe
To show us what is true.

Our borders are enlarged, only as we see,
That we can not enlarge them,
We do not hold the key.
And we may not see these borders expand upon this earth,
For the expansion of true borders,
only have eternal worth.
If borders appear to be expanding, by wealth, material gain,
Then we know death will take it all,
Yes, it will all be in vain.
But, if we seek God's grace and live within His sphere,
Then spiritually our borders
Sure have no measure here.
God alone determines breadth, depth and height and width,
He has the key to our mansion
Where we will ever live.
Immeasurable the borders, planned for heaven's day
Uncountable the treasure

The Romans didn't kill Him, neither did the Jews
Pilate didn't kill the Saviour
Nor was it me or you.
No soldier could kill Jesus, no public with their cry
Crucify, crucify, No
That didn't make Him die.
Not the pharisees with every malice, nor the ones who whipped him sore
Not even those who hammered nails
Could ever kill the Lord.
For Jesus said, no one can take My life from Me
I lay it down Myself-

~The Perfection ~
The path ahead I cannot see, this moment's all I know,
There's nothing sure and nothing set,
Where I can come or go.
Each breath I take is but fragile, my body's end depends,
On what I can't control, direct
Nor have the power to tend.
It needs perfection to sustain, each muscle, nerve and cell,
So here it ages and deteriorates
Though I may treat it well.
Thus my God, I need within, to make my spirit live,
While here my body, fades and dies
To 'me' new life He gives.
He is perfection to sustain, my spirit and my soul,
He is the key to every day,
All's safe in His control.

~ Shelf Life ~
We might hang up a shelf, whereon we keep belief
Then fill it up with all we want and all we seek to keep.
We try to fit some Jesus on, the shelf so full of stuff,
BUT, we will need to sweep it clean
If we would know God's love.
For we can't add Jesus to the life, that we already planned
God knows the life we need, for the key is in His hand,
His faith is never God - plus what, we think will suit us fine-
It isn't Jesus, plus behaviour, codes
We think might be divine.
There isn't any path, or act, or dress nor cultural way
To make us seem more wise, in things we do and say,
God will not mark us good, by just adding Him
Like we might a hobby
Or a collector's thing.
'Tis only when we put Him first, Him only on our shelf,
As Our Saviour, Father, Friend
Will we in heaven dwell.

The Secret Is Acceptance
I will put my trust in Him. Hebrews 2:13
Helen Roseveare was a British medical missionary in the Congo years ago during an uprising.
Her faith was strong and her trust was confident, yet she was raped and assaulted and treated brutally.
Commenting later, she said, "I must ask myself a question as if it came directly from the Lord.
"Can you thank Me for trusting you with this experience even if I never tell you why?"
What a profound thought.God has trusted each of us
with our own set of unfair circumstances and unexplained experiences to deal with.
Can we still trust in Him even if He never tells us why?
The secret to responsible trust is acceptance.
Acceptance is taking from God's hand absolutely anything He gives,
looking into His face in trust and thanksgiving,
knowing that the confinement of the hedge we're in is good and for His glory.

Question: "Does God promise to not give us more than we can handle?"
Answer: First Corinthians 10:13 reads,
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful,
who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation
will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
This Scripture teaches us a powerful principle. If we belong to Him,
God will not allow any difficulty to come into our lives that we are not capable of bearing.
So, anything that comes our way, anything that tempts us, any tragedy that befalls us--
we are capable of overcoming it and achieving spiritual victory.
That does not mean it will always be easy.
Quite the contrary—the fact that we may need a “way of escape”
indicates that God sometimes allows difficult trials to come into our lives.
We may not believe that we can overcome it, we may doubt our own strength to prevail,
and we may even fail in the temptation. That does not mean, though,
that we are not capable of overcoming that particular temptation.
Whether it is a temptation to sin or a temptation to doubt God,
God promises that we will be able to overcome it.
But what does it mean to “overcome” trials?
It means the trials do not overcome our faith or our position as children of God,
and we come through the trials intact. Our eternal destiny is not in danger
because we are kept by the Holy Spirit, who was given to us as a down payment
on our salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14).
No trial can overcome that because it is of God.
Therefore, the child of God will stand firm through the trials
and come out on the other side still in God’s hand.
This is proof that our salvation is real and our reward in heaven awaits us.
James 1:12 assures us,
“Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test,
he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

Faith endures as seeing Him who is invisible (Heb. 11:27); endures the
disappointments, the hardships, and the heart-aches of life, by
recognizing that all comes from the hand of Him who is too wise to err
and too loving to be unkind. But so long as we are occupied with any
other object than God Himself, there will be neither rest for the heart
nor peace for the mind. But when we receive all that enters our lives as
from His hand, then, no matter what may be our circumstances or
surroundings-whether in a hovel or prison-dungeon, or at a martyr's
stake-we shall be enabled to say, " The lines are fallen unto me in
pleasant places" (Ps. 16:6). But that is the language of faith, not of
sight or earthly sense.
