I am the child. I am the child who rocked herself to sleep. I am the child who cried out from the deep. I am the child who felt completely alone. I am the child, no feeling, like stone. I am the girl. I am the girl with nary a friend. I am the girl torn deep within. I am the girl without her way. I am the girl silent each day. I am the woman. I am the woman who finally knew. I am the woman seeking what's true. I am the woman who looked for love. I am the woman with a gift from above. I am the child. I am the child YOU found when lost. I am the child YOU saved at great cost. I am the child of the great King. I am the child who learned to sing. Thank You, Lord, for loving me, sparing me, finding me and saving me. Thanks for giving me a song the angels cannot sing! I love you! YOU made me who I am! ~Karla Unger~ |
If Jesus says He gives to us, just when we ask a lot
Then, whatever, can it mean When we receive it not. So, must we then take stock, of what is our request For, would it be what God desires- The giving of His best? Maybe check if we are asking, for only as we'd like Not realising God can see to choose What 'He' knows is true and right If Jesus says we truly find, by seeking more and more Then what's He really saying Will open wide the door How do we keep on seeking, and what then do we seek Coulod it be the thirst for HIM That makes our life complete If Jesus says to knock, upon what do we knock Where does the door appear He's wating to unlock He says, the door will open, knocking's all we do So, this door we need to find That we might pass right through So, if it is from HIM I seek, the ask of Him is mine He, is The Door on which I knock 'Tis HIM I seek to find. God speaks to those who take
time to listen and he listens to those who take time to pray ♥♥♥ The seed of the poppy can lie dormant for years! But when the ground is disturbed or freshly turned, the seed springs into life and come the appointed season bursts into bloom. That's why we often see swathes of poppies on the sides of new motorways, or here in Spain, around the numerous parcelas recently cut out of the hillsides. This reminds me of God's faithfulness to prayer. Sometimes when we're praying for someone to accept Jesus as their Saviour, we may think that He hasn't heard our prayer as the years pass and nothing seems to happen. But as with the poppy, the seed is sown, it is not dead, but waiting on His timing, in His season, for the Holy Spirit to 'awaken', turnover, disturb, the seed resting in that precious soul so it bursts into life and blossoms into fruitfulness. Teaching me not only to be faithful and patient in prayer, but to trust Him too. Our God of faithfulness. ♥ Sue Murray |

If nobody remembers my name or the works of my hands,
if everything that I’ve worked so hard to build over the years crumbles into insignificance,
if I lose my health and my wits and even, heaven forbid, my memory,
You are still my refuge and strength.
Your name is Mercy. You are my help,
and not just mine but the help of all the ragamuffins in this life.
Better is one day in Your courts, naked in truth,

I saw you in the sunshine, the sunshine of your smile
I saw you in your prettiness
And pondered there awhile
I pondered on your beauty, the beauty of your heart
That set your face aglow
With love that you impart
I saw you in the sunshine, the warmth you gladly share
I saw you in the love of God
The way you want to care

You are loving... as your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.
You are wise... as you know the limits of your wisdom.
You are true... as you admit there are times you don't know yourself.
You are alive... as tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's hurts.
You are free... as you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.
You are generous... as you can take as sweetly as you can give.
You are thoughtful... as you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.
You are merciful... as you forgive in others the faults you see in yourself.
You are beautiful... as you don't need a mirror to tell you.
You are rich... as you have the love of God within your heart.

The owner of a small business,
a friend of the poet Olavo Bilac, met him on the street and asked,
“Mr. Bilac, I need to sell my small farm, the one you know so well.
Could you please write an announcement for the paper?”
Bilac wrote:
"For sale: a beautiful property, where birds sing at dawn in extensive woodland,
bi-sected by the brilliant and sparkling waters of a large stream.
The house is bathed by the rising sun.
It offers tranquil shade in the evenings on the veranda."
Some time later, the poet met his friend and asked whether he had sold the property
to which he replied:
“I’ve changed my mind.
When I read what you had written, I realized the treasure that was mine.”

~ The Pear Tree ~
There was a man who had four sons.
He wanted his sons to not judge things with haste.
So he sent them on a quest, in turn, to go and look
at a pear tree far away of most delicious taste.
The first son went in winter, the second in the spring,
the third son went in summer, and the youngest in the fall.
When they had all returned, he called them to describe
the story of it all.
The first son said the tree was ugly, scarred and bent.
The second said, "No - 'twas covered with green buds and full of promise yet".
The third son disagreed; 'It was laden with blossoms very sweet
and looked so beautiful, the most graceful flowered treat.
The last son disagreed, 'It was ripe and drooping fruit
overflowing life, the very best of food.
The man then told his sons that all were speaking right,
because each had seen one season in the pear tree's life.
He said, "So don't judge people, by one season seen,
for the essence of pleasure, joy, and love serene
come from the whole life, and are only measured when
all the seasons come to end.
If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of spring's call,
the beauty of your summer, the fulfilment of your fall.
Don't let the pain of one season, destroy the joy of all the rest.
Nor judge life in times of saddest test.
Persevere through the struggle and you will know God's best.
Spread out your petition before God, and then say, "Thy will, not mine, be done."
The sweetest lesson I have learned in God's school
is to let the Lord choose for me.

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire.
He told his employer of his plans to finish house-building
to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his family.
He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire.
They could get by.
The employer was sorry to see his good worker go
& asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor.
The carpenter said yes. But over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.
He was tired and had lost interest now he was leaving.
Thus, he resorted to poor workmanship and used inferior materials.
It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.
When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house.
Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said,
"This is your house... my gift to you."
The carpenter was shocked!
What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house,
he would have done it all so differently.
So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building.
Then, with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built.
If we could do it over, would we do it much differently.
You are the carpenter, and every day you build your life.
Someone once said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your attitude, and the choices you make today,
help build the "house" you will live in tomorrow.
Build wisely, start today, God forgives and forgets and makes new,
He doesn't look behind Him, neither should we.

~ Life Lived~
Once, by a desert oasis, there flourished a city, where many lived:
Rich, Looks, Happy, Sad, Learning, Busy and many others, including Life.
One day someone noted that the oasis was drying up.
The news soon spread,so all got very busy doing what they thought best,
for what may eventuate. - Except for Life.
Life, lived each day as usual, keeping his normal low profile.
When the water was disappearing, Life kept digging, for he wanted to live.
Rich passed deliberately by Life, towing a grand boat. Life ran to him and said,
"Rich, take me with you?"
Rich answered, "No, I am full. I have gathered all I want. There is no room here for you."
Life called out to Looks, passing by in a beautiful coaster. "Looks, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Life. You might scar my journey," Looks answered.
Then Sad slowly walked by, so Life asked, "Sad, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Life, I am so sad that I need to go all by myself!"
Suddenly Happy raced by Life, so giddy that she did not even hear when Life called her.
But there was Learning - almost out of ear shot. Life called "Help me Learning"
But Learning said, "I know all I choose to know Life, you are a stranger, goodbye".
There was one more zooming by, Life yelled, " Busy help"
But Busy was so busy, that he didn't even look up.
Life watched all the vehicles disappear into the dark, barren desert.
He was now standing alone, feeling very thirsty.
Suddenly, there was a voice, "Life, would you like to come with me, I am here for you."
It was a kind voice, coming from a kind face, near a jet big enough for many.
So blessed and overjoyed,
Life climbed into the Kind one's plane with great relief.
They soared up and away safely, until landing on a new beautiful land of many refreshing streams.
The kind one helped him out.
Realizing how much was owed the kind one,
Life asked, "Who are You?"
"I am Jesus, the One who made you Life," He answered with love. "Come live here forever with Me"

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you.
Remain in me, and I will remain in you.
No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine.

~ Pondering Pooches ~
Walked my poochie today, heard the yelling, before I saw the guy,
yelling at the full grown dog that came charging,
full pace at my, now on edge, little pooch...
You know the guy, probably feels he chose the worst dog in the litter -
just won't follow commands.....,
You think... 'Mmm, poor dog, not getting a good training',
But it IS hard work, one has got to be very committed huh-
lots of loving, consistent,
"Say/do what you mean and mean/do what you say",
It pays off.
The pooch becomes very happy, free, can run like the wind in the park,
'cause they know their master is watching -
will call if there's any trouble....Such a pooch never needs a lead,
as it's under control - just by the Master's voice..
I love that. It makes me feel teary watching a trained pooch run..happy like...
My pooch is deaf now,
I wondered how she would cope walking without her sister pooch to follow,
Today I found out she is fine, she's been watching me for years,
she knows my every turn and hand movement after 10 years.
Children are almost the same, I say almost, 'cause they have a sin nature -
a dog doesn't, so a dog is easier to train.
But if we mold a child's will, using kind, loving, consistent biblical methods
-like Dobson taught us, then life is pretty peaceful.
I realised today, while caring for my grandchild, I do lots of whispering with littlies.
It's a very calming thing for me and them..
I loved watching / hearing my little ones play,
I loved holiday time, Oh, how I love our four, all grown now,
Eternity will be tops..they will be with me forever.
I can bear the separation, 'cause its only for now.
P.S. We run free like that, when we know our Master - near, watching ,listening,
He says/does what He means and means/does what He says.
When we know His voice, we run free, loved and safe,
for we know we will hear Him when He calls
That's my Nan ponderings for today..

Poetry from the Heart
What happens...
When, we speak to someone - in love -and they react badly back...
They may have just had a real humdinger of an argument with someone and they may be,
( also from other built up hurts) angry not at you, but at the world in general, ...
Who knows what hurts they are harbouring from their past,
but if, when you come across their pathway and show them God's love,
they retort back, can we believe God put us right there, for His purpose.
Pray for them, for when they think later, they will feel that love and think of God.
We just never know how He shines from us, without us knowing,
for when He is in us, our hearts are His conduit.
You were urged to reach out to them, speaking love, helping, with God's love in your heart,
and real love like that can make a hurt person angry very quickly.
When Jesus acted and spoke with love, He made many people angry,
He said He came to bring a sword/division, for real love does that - Matthew 10:34
When you said what LOVE was meant to say, with His love in your heart..
it wouldn't matter much the 'exact' words used,
if they were given from the motive of love.
It is no use going back over and over how you might have chosen different words.
ie After such an incident, we can spend time berating what those words of Love created,
because of a seemingly bad response..
But, what we do do now, is simply trust what Jesus did and said through us,
as being what He wanted, for He is the one in control of us when we react/work in His love.,
Consider what God says to the church in the epistles written to us personally..
1 Thess 4:
Be wise, make the most of every opportunity, with conversation full of grace,
seasoned with salt, so you may know how to ANSWER everyone.
1 Thess 4:11
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, mind your own business,
work with your hands- so that your daily life may win respect..
2 Thess 1:11B
...by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith
1 Peter 3:15
Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks of you
to give the reason for the hope that you have.
We get caught by the berating thing,
which is a downer. God wants us to rest in Him, trust in Him and pray,
Let GOD have all control of our words and results, as we are His vessels to do with as HE pleases.
The work is HIS,
we as the vessel are unable to say to the Potter who made us-
Why did you make me thus.-
We are the pot of His choice..we submit to the hands forming us ..
Romans 9: 14-23
For what happens v 16, "does not depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy"
v 23 "What if He did this,( ie hardened hearts)
to make the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy."
Occasions always arise of interaction, sharing God's love with others and all react differently -..
All we can do is trust, and believe God lives in and through us,
believing the Holy Spirit is at work,.as Jesus said- Matthew 16:18
"I will build My church and the gates of hades, shall not prevail against it."
When Jesus finished 33 years here, he had but a few women and John with Him at the cross
and He was GOD...
John 6:65 - None come to the Saviour, unless The Father enables them.
Galatians 5: 6
The only thing that matters is - faith expressing itself through love
-and if love is what we gave, then we can but thank God He could use our heart in the darkness of this time.
Trust what He did, then give yourself a huggle,
ie wrap one arm this way and the other arm the other way and be hugged.

Those who come near Christ will become like Christ.... If we draw near
to Jesus Christ, life from Him will pass into our hearts and minds,
which life will show itself in kindred fashion to Jesus Christ,
and will shape us into the likeness of Him from whom we draw our
life, because to Him we have come.... We draw life from Jesus Christ if
we keep close to Him, and that life makes us...in very real and
profound sense, what Jesus Christ was in the world.

Why would anyone choose to NOT have GOD inside,
THE CREATOR of everything and the source of all power, peace, love and joy..
If we can just grasp His world and way of thinking in HIS permanent place..
we would soon ditch the attachment to this temporary place and its temporary cares..
while tapping into that power to live in it..
for we ARE here and need super natural resources to traverse this time and place
