~ Buttons n' Bows ~
I am but one simple stitch, in the whole design of life,
But, one special little stitch, in time,
can save a lot of strife.
For one tiny broken thread, can mean the very end,
The demise of the newest stockings, impossible to mend.
Just one loose loop of wool, a sweater can be spoiled,
One pulled cotton in crochet, will waste the hours of toil.
One missing french knot in embroidery, leaves little to defend,
One weak link in a chain, will all it's value rend.
But if the tailor who is clever, restores the missing stitch,
Then there is worth once more, where once there was remiss.
The One so wise with love, is needling me to plan,
For I'm one very vital link, within the times of man.
No other one completes the pattern, with those before and after me,
We connect in love completing, God's perfect tapestry.
Thank you for being, one special link to me

~ Treadle Li'l To My Friend ~
To the fabric of my good friend's heart today,
I rise to treadle li'l soft,
For as I ponder on them sew, I've a notion just to zip across.
To her, I'll treadle li'l measured, ease and clip her way, to slip,
All pressed to give, a li'l shy, cut up, stash piled with seamly gifts.
I will treadle li'l wear-ily,
bobbin' dart with reel hole care,
To hook and eye my special friend, facing up a notch to share.
For when I needle li'l patchin' Tension looms and I needle li'l love,
I treadle li'l over to my friend
As she needles me to come.
Today is mounting up a thank you, so to finish, I'll treadle li'l path
Where the kindest thread is underpinned
Gathered nicely in her heart.

~ I LOve To Quilt ~
I've been gathering pretties along the way,
only my very favourite ones
I'm making them into a nice warm quilt, a comforting quilt of love
One of the loveliest came from far away,
and one from closer home
Another came as such a surprise, the most wonderful to know
Now I'm sew hog wild about quilting,
for God gave the very best
To hem about with the sweetest memories... Oh, I am so 'specially blessed
And when I gaze upon my comforter,
which is all tucked in my heart
Of my quilt, so uniquely chosen, you are such a special part

~ Sew Glad You've Slipped By ~
If we've stitched some varied colour, to make our friendship grow,
And buttoned up our lips,
only the finest clips to know.
Then we're knit together, with the firmest knotted thread,
We've needled a little love into our hearts,
guided by the softest tread.
As we hooked up to our PC, it looped us neatly you and eye,
Now we've cottoned on it seams,
we'll be in stitches, Oh my...
Finely measured by God's design, because we're of biased ilk,
Our layers of love are pinned down,
of the purest silk.
No old scraps make up our quilt, embroidered with soft strands of gold,
Eternal flair shines through each hole,
not just felt, but sew it's told
Ah, such loveliness, ours to hold.

~ Housework Wonder ~
Oh my, do I have to be so good today and get some housework done,
Aha, I know what to do- I'll just put on a pot of soup,
so when they all return a lovely smell is wafting through.
And while I make a cuppa, I can quickly rinse each dish,
Then pop to shops, load the wash, and quickly feed the fish.
Vaccuum quick, come back here, where all's happening, 'tis clear.
Then while I munch a little lunch, I'll dash outside to prune
OK, On the way, I'll quickly swish the broom
(And get my vitamin D) there, that is done real soon.
How swiftly can I iron the shirts and sew up Jimmy's jeans
and knit a row or two, then back I am to see.
Oh, what a laugh you funny gal,
That put pepper in my shoes, to move my feet about,
you're such a blessed pal.
I love to hear the music that you send, to dance my heart away,
Then at days end, I'll be known to say, my dearest email friend,
that all my chores were surely done
Because of all your email fun.

~Tread-A-Li'l Mom~
Today, I shall tread-a-li'l careful, and I'll tread-a-li'l soft,
For now's when I zip along to say,
I love my Mum a lot.
I will tread-a-li'l tender and slip her way a li'l bit,
A li'l shy, a li'l cut up, with my special knitted gift.
I will tread-a-li'l sweetly, bobbin' with reel care,
To hook and eye my Mother,
with the love I have to share.
I'll butt-in on her reverie, and pin her to the wall,
In the measuring of my pride,
in the giving of her all.
For when I need-a-li'l patchin'...When I need-a-li'l love
I tread-a-li'l to my Mum, 'cause she always says to come.
Today she'll need-a-li'l thank you,
so I'll tread-a-li'l path
Where the thread of all began,
pumping in her heart

~ Grandma's Sew Loving ~
My Grandma has a special dream, a precious dream of love
To stitch into the thread of life, all that should be spun
Come morning, her dear hands uncover,
the sweet treadly of her heart
To pump away with all her might, for all she may impart
Her spin in life is stitching up, the best attire for us to wear
Lovely hearts all trimmed with sparkles,
designed with all her care
She knows just when to button up, or darn each rip and tear
Bobbin' in or zipping 'round, each rend that needs repair
Her machine is in good working order,
God's Spirit oils it every day
Patterned on the instruction manual, to sew the straightest way
She hems it all with lots of prayer, that is her quilting skill
Whatever seams to be unraveled,
she'll patch it, yes I know she will

~ Family Sew Together
Our family's quite quaint, with our own special traits But, old fashioned are we and live spendidly. Our home might seem simple, plain fare's what we have Yet, that's how we like it, to make our heart's glad. There's only one car it's all ours of course The house steps are worn, but we love our old porch We delight in our kin and like how this works. There's comfort inside for when we get hurt Our mother is kind So gentle and good. Her baking's the best (if we bring in the wood) We all wind up laughing, though mind, at not much Just 'cause we're together, being helpful and such. Our Mama, just grins, from her chair where she mends You see, we're secure, for on God we depend. We live life content, with Pop in his chair He leads all the prayin'... To our Father that cares. Yes, our ways are still simple sweet care is the best Lovin' God and our neighbour, our family's so blessed. ~ Beary Comfy ~
I'm thinking now's the time, for you to have a little treat,
A cozy comfy rest, because you're very sweet.
So, choose now your favourite cushion,
to run your fingers in the lace,
Then trace the pretty flower and press the softness to your face.
There's homespun gingham and organza, cotton, velvet or the smoothest silk,
Take your pick, just as you love,
your own special ilk.
Then find a favourite nook, tucked somewhere from the wind,
Where the sun will warm you through,
right down deep within.
Snuggle up, comfy now with Jesus and the loving that I send,
I wish I too, could be sitting somewhere near,
for you truly are, a very treasured friend.
