~ In A Land So Full Of Winter ~
Sometimes it seems we are alone, But God puts us in this ride together So friendship we can know. In the warmth we have between us We can share in heartfelt prayer, Here connected, one in spirit We can feel that someone cares. As we pray for Him to fill our lives With the comfort of His touch. So we will know the presence of His very tender love. Then in that care, we find each day (And through the lonely night) The peace of our Heavenly Father With the faith of inner sight. As we pray for one another To know that in the cold He comes, To wrap His arms around us And bring to us His love. Soft whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2008 I will never walk alone, He holds my hand.
He will guide each step I take, and if I fall, I know He'll understand. Ev'ry tear He wipes away and ev'ry heartache shares. I will never walk alone, He holds my hand. 'Till the day He tells me why He loves me so, I can feel His hand in mine, That's all I need to know. Mosie Lister |

As I gaze into my days now gone I see a blur through tumbling snow, Memories engraved within my heart Have become to me a cameo. Oh, I would cry It's snowing, let's toboggan now, Please come up our favourite hill Look out, here comes the noisy plough. And as we'd climb past all the firs You'd knock the drifts off every bough, And as it flaked all over me I'd giggle with delighted glee. Then how excited I would be To reach the very top, Then we'd hold tight and we would sled... Down fast, until we stopped. Then, I'd cry, just one more please And you would sigh, it's much too far, But with a grin, back up we'd go 'Cause friends we are, heart to heart. As darkness fell, you'd laugh How about hot choc, for fun, And then we'd lean into the fire, Very warm and snug. Oh, I'm grateful for the treasure Of all your winter fun with me Sharing love together we are....eternally. Soft Whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2004 heartwhispers@iinet.net.au |
~ Winter wonderland ~
How can a heart sleep, while booming thunder roars Could the hope of spring Be the hidden cause Peace, an illusive season, where can it be found, Is it in a balmy meadow With warm sunshine around. Is it truest when we're laughing, where friends are all found, Gathered in festivity When loveliness abounds. Do we feel its power, when all's serene and still, When troubles are no more And there's no pain to feel. Is it only after fortune, with accolades profuse Or will contentment come When things are more obtuse. While the thunder's roaring, rain is all we feel, But when life's velvet is all wet Will spring become more real. A delicate little bird, sits calmly in the nest, While winds rage on, it fears not Within the storm... at rest. When grief tears at our heart- our soul held safe from care How miraculous the peace that comes in the winter that we bear. Soft Whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © 2003 heartwhispers@iinet.net.au |

We are all called to carefully bear The burdens of each other, For when we are joined in the Lord We love another from the heart, As an eternal brother. For though the cold of life May sweep across our soul, And trap us in a wall of hurt, God's miracle of new birth. Comes to make us whole. I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty every day,
and if you can source your life from God's presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine,
and still stand on the edge of a lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair,
weary and bruised to the bone,
and do what needs to be done for the children.
