“The very quality of our life, whether we love it or hate it,
is based upon how thankful we are toward God. It is one's attitude that determines whether life unfolds into a place of blessedness or wretchedness.
This is the only life we have before we enter eternity.
If we want to find joy, we must first find thankfulness.
Indeed, the one who is thankful for even a little enjoys much.
But the unappreciative soul is always miserable, always complaining.
He lives outside the shelter of the Most High God."
~~Francis Frangipane~~
“Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.
Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases.
Who redeems your life from destruction,
who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies.
Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”
Psalm 103:1-5

~ Thanks For Thanksgiving ~
'Twas a very nice thanksgiving, thank you, we enjoyed a special meal,
While autumn leaves were blowing with a sentimental feel.
The turkey was delicious, the stuffing, mashed potato too,
Sweet cranberry sauce and beans and over pumpkin pie we drooled.
All the children squealed and played and Grandma smiled with glee,
The sunshine melted all the snow and shone so prettily.
Oh how we love the special symbols of our thanksgiving time,
When together we can gather in the blessings of our time.
As we offered up our prayers for those both far and near,
Who suffer depth of anguish and never ending fear.
For those who fought for hope to bravely claim their land,
We felt the wonder yet again how God led them in their plan.
We thanked Him for our soldiers who give their lives with love,
To grant to us our freedom. our family and fun.
And so we're thankful for thanksgiving, our time of grateful prayer,
While every day we thank the Lord
For special folk who care.

God has two dwellings; one in heaven, and the other in a meek and thankful heart.

For, after all, put it as we may to ourselves, we are all of us from birth to death,
guests at a table which we did not spread. The sun, the earth, love,
friends, our very breath are parts of the banquet....
Shall we think of the day as a chance to come nearer to our Host,
and to find out something of Him who has fed us so long?

Oh my, hasn't God been good to us
All His blessings tumbling down,
Enjoying special friendships and love to share around.
The birds have still been chirping, in each days warm sunshine,
And when the earth receives a shower, it sure looks mighty fine.
On the table is piled our daily bread, abundance all to share abroad,
With a cozy home out of the cold,
For this, we thank the Lord.
We pray for those who feel deep hunger, are lonely in the night,
May they be touched by angel care, God's love relieve their plight.
With the overflow God gives me, I'll find ways to share with all,
By reaching out with what I can, to bless their hearts the more.
And for you my loving friend, this is what I pray
For the windows of heaven to open
To pour a blessing on your heart today.

Dear Lord,
We thank You for the year just passed
And as we pause to ponder..
We thank You most of all for the things that last.
We enjoy so many blessings, but, the greatest we re-call,
Are all the ones we treasure dear, that we cannot see at all.
Our hearts remember our heritage, those who gave their lives,
To make our blessed land as they laboured together, side by side.
We thank You for the hearts That love,
filled with the wonder of eternity - Your blessing from above.
We cannot see Your Hand, the way You watch us all,
But we know without Your care, that we would surely fall.
Make us sit still a while Lord, to listen to Your heart,
For then we'd see more of all we miss, falling on our path.
Help us trust You now, to take away our fear,
For if we saw with the eyes of faith we'd see You always near.
So, in our humble state, please accept our feeble thanks,
As we stand with open hands to receive
Of Your abundant grace.

The day is here and we're grateful to those
Who have baked with lots of care,
We give our thanks to God for all that we can share.
Oh, we so wish you could be here, gathered with us at this special time,
While we enjoy sweet company of family as we dine.
Thanksgiving is a precious occasion, but how we sure long,
For those we love so much, to be home where they belong.
We'll try to smile, for you would say, " Enjoy each moment and be glad,
Don't miss out on being happy, or for me be too sad".
Grandies and you, may be missing now, Johnny, Uncle Fred or little bub,
The table is so empty, without dear ones that we love.
But, though each may be absent, these dear faces we still see,
As we sit at the table, with us here, you always will be.
For every time we remember, that day we'll celebrate on high,
When we have thanksgiving together
Forever home in star-lit skies.

As One-We give thanks
One love, one light, burning here and now to see,
One heart to beat, one path to walk, for all that is to be
One life to live, one heart to love,
One hand to reach, one night, one is forever touched.
One meal to share, one heart is warmed, one prayer to share
To care, for one to be forever spared.
One sip of living water, for one eternity,

To pass one everlasting life
to all, that's you and me.

~ Bountiful Harvest ~
There are so many things, we may just as soon forget
For somehow remembrance may be put aside-
though it is truly meant...
So many promises are vowed, or words sincerely read-
Yet time can turn the tide, so they cannot be kept.
But there is One who never changes-
We believe with every breath
That His bounty's with us always
And keep the life He is, because He bled-
Thus there are no fears tomorrow
nor none today to fret,
For His harvest is a promise-
It will come, just as He always said.

~ Thanksgiving We Won't Forget ~
Today, how much we want to join together in heart to ponder
The wonder, the treasure that we know
Remembering who and when, gave up all, in sacrifice years ago,
to build for us our home.
With survival, and their very breath at stake, our great grandparents
Gave up their all, their life when time was sacrifice.
Their love burnt by each pain and joy from dawn til fading light-
And thus, we're granted by them now such goodness every day,
From the gift of those that gave their hearts, their very life away.
Did they see so far ahead, for us each dawn, to rise with souls so brave,
So that this thanksgiving day, we could gather, as one voice to raise.
Thanks to God for our forefather's gift - of wisdom as their guide,
To found our nation on God's love, so in freedom we'd abide.
To have all so very good and right, by caring, walking in His light.
But, Oh - these laws of goodness are endangered
But, we shall not be rent-
For the very life blood shed for us,
In thanksgiving, no-we won't forget.

Have you noted, how dark shades of night -complement the dawn of light,
How misty moving shadows - give a different slant on sight.
Have you watched when coal-black skies - reveal the glowing stars,

And why saddest deprivation - discloses what is 'filled.'
Have you grieved how war cries freedom - as fear reveals what's safe,
While hate, discloses love - that we so dearly crave.
Have you detected, bitter things - grant us the joy of sweet,

Thank You Father, we don't need to search for Your goodness to be found,
Thank You, we but need to realise all Your blessings are right here with us now.
Thank You, that to young and old- You came to show Your worth
Knocking e'er knocking, You can come to all You made on earth
Thank You for bringing peace with Your passion, to be in our heart this day-
With love, You took of our fear to lead us in Your perfect way.
Thank You, we don't need to 'tidy up', for being good, we cannot do-
So with power you took all our dross, to fill us with Your life anew.
Thank You for not rejecting us all, that for our sin You gladly died
And bled, for all who want to be set free from the useless 'try' .
Thank You, you took our lives, to heal, cleanse, recreate us all,

Be glad, O people of the Lord... Be glad, rejoice in Him,
The Lord has done great things for us, far more than can be seen.
The trees are bearing plenteous fruit, the fig tree and the vine,
Rejoice, The Lord, The Righteous One, is ever good and kind
He sends abundant showers in spring and in Autumn as before,
The vats will swirl with oil, grain overflow the threshing floor.
He will repay for all the years the locust stripped away,
He will restore til we are full and we will give Him praise.
