The loss leaves sorrows heartache, that time can never heal
But God gives life forever, that none can ever steal.
Thank God for the Teachers that gave their lives away
Now taken with the children to care for them always.
All children go to Jesus, no more to be afraid
In Jesus' love secure, to love and laugh and play.

Keep Jesus in the classrooms, keep Jesus in our hearts
Tell children about Jesus, so they never from Him part.
In honor and remembrance of the children and teachers of Sandy Hook Elementary school.
Twas' 11 days before Christmas, around 9:38,
When 20 beautiful children stormed through heaven's gate.
Their smiles were contagious, their laughter filled the air.
They could hardly believe all the beauty they saw there.
They were filled with such joy, they didn't know what to say.
They remembered nothing of what had happened earlier that day.
"Where are we?" asked a little girl, as quiet as a mouse.
"This is heaven." declared a small boy. "We're spending Christmas at God's house."
When what to their wondering eyes did appear,
But Jesus, their Savior, the children gathered near.
He looked at them and smiled, and they smiled just the same.
Then He opened His arms and He called them by name,
And in that moment was joy, that only heaven can bring.
Those children all flew into the arms of their King,
And as they lingered in the warmth of His embrace,
One small girl turned and looked at Jesus' face.
And as if He could read all the questions she had,
He gently whispered to her, "I'll take care of Mom and Dad."
Then He looked down on earth, the world far below,
He saw all of the hurt, the sorrow, and woe.
Then He closed His eyes and He outstretched His hand,
"Let My power and presence re-enter this land!"
"May this country be delivered from the hands of fools."
"I'm taking back my nation. I'm taking back my schools!"
Then He and the children stood up without a sound.
"Come now my children, let me show you around."
Excitement filled the space, some skipped and some ran.
All displaying enthusiasm that only a small child can.
And I heard Him proclaim as He walked out of sight,
"In the midst of this darkness, I AM STILL THE LIGHT."

'In the Garden of Faith, Hope & Love"
And I saw the children with Him, laughing so with glee
And then my heart relaxed, as He led them to His home
I knew that in His love
they would never be alone.
And then my heart turned over, for I knew that they were safe
And I couldn't wait to see them, when I walk heaven's gate.
And then I felt the wonder, what grief now gave to me...
How could God love me so, to set my darling free
To play within His garden, love's perfect sanctuary.
My eyes kept flowing tears, but my heart was still with peace
It is heaven I will live for, for my child I long to see.

Please join me in praying for the families and the community of Sandy Hook...
Dear Heavenly Father,
Lord we pray for the families that lost loved ones....
we pray for the children who were witnesses to such terror...
we pray for each life that has been irrevocably changed in a matter of minutes.
Lord, we ask that you will make yourself so real and present to those that are grieving at this moment
and we ask for your grace and mercy to fall upon this community
that is in shock over the day's events.
Father, we pray for your comfort. Lord,
when such tragedies happen it brings home the fact that life is precious. Everything can change in a blink of an eye.
May every parent cherish the gift that they have been given.
May strained relationships be healed and repaired while there is still time.
Lord, we will never make sense of a tragedy like this or any of the violent acts that are carried out every minute,
of every day, all around the world.
We ask for your peace and comfort for those who are grieving and mourning the loss of their loved ones.
Lord, your heart is grieving over the pain and sorrow and evil in this world.
We thank you that there is coming a day when there will be no more tears, or pain, or violence, or death...
but for today Lord, there are many that are hurting and grieving and fearful...
we ask for you to meet each need and may there be an outpouring of love
to offer comfort, support and encouragement.
In Jesus' name we pray, Amen

~ The child in your hand ~
Oh Lord, hold them close now Chase the fear man imparts While sin steals a heartbeat All are safe in Your heart. As anguish stabs each spirit May hope now arise, To somehow see with Your eyes That each life never dies. Man's hatred might destroy In anger, cruel fight, Tearing up what You value In the blindness of their night. But Your mercy gift is endless Your secret is true peace, In Your love that is forever Calming questions, angry pleas. May all suffering know Your presence May chilling feelings flee, Creating comfort in the turmoil As we bow down at Your knee. The children now are safe Each cradled in Your hand, The angels are now holding them And they can understand. Restore hope for tomorrow Still the screaming in Your love, Sustain all by Your power. Dear Father with enough. In the brokenness and heartbreak Wash the sorrow in Your peace, You are loving every darling Eternal life for them is sweet. Soft Whispers from Derry's Heart Poems © Dec 2012 [email protected] You truly are closer to them now, than before,.. and how you may ask,--- 'cause they are now spirit and spirit is closer, where they are now safe, They will never leave you nor break your heart. Physically there now is a gap, 'tween when you will be with them. But, one of you has to go to heaven first, they are waiting for you there, but without any sadness, for they are complete and with you still.. They will never see you suffer nor die- God knows they need to be saved from that hurt, God knows, you can bear the grief and heartbreak, that they never will. You love them that much. |

To ensure the safety of my family, is to tell them of God's love
So they will want to know Him, and be together up above.
Sin may take life's breath, but because the Saviour died,
If we love Him, we will rise, we will live and we will fly.
The grave is but the change room for glory where we sing,
The bleakness of cold winter, but the prelude of new spring.
The darkness of cocoons, the release of wings of flight,
The planted bulb and seed, the bursting forth of life.
If we look with Jesus' eyes, we see beyond this world,
Where God has made a heaven that for us will soon unfurl.
Keep Jesus in the classrooms, keep Jesus in our hearts

Our country is grieving. Each child who has been slaughtered belongs to each of us and each slain adult is a member of our family. It is impossible to explain the horror to ourselves and to our survivors. We need to hold each other’s hands and look into each other’s eyes and say, "I am sorry." -Maya Angelou
Praise be to the God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. -2 Corinthians 1:3-4
We grieve with those that grieve.
We grieve for the world that our children live in.
We grieve as we see the darkness that plagues the world.
Evil, corruption, lack of morals, natural disasters, poverty, illness...so many things are on the rise Lord..
and You are aware of it all and it is, as it was foretold it would be, in the end of times.
But we were also told, as we saw these things happening to,"look up as our redemption draws near."
So we look for you in the midst of this madness Father...
Lord, in the midst of so many tragedies, there is a gift that we are celebrating that should give us hope...
the gift of you our Savior. Jesus you were born in the midst of dark times.
There was corruption and evil then. Herod killed thousands and thousands of innocent babies out of jealousy..
-to try to prevent Jesus from being the King of Kings.
Jesus, you entered this world in the midst of great mourning and grief
over the loss of so many children that were killed,
but You entered the world as a sign of hope and redemption and promise of better things to come...
our Messiah...our Deliverer ...Our Prince of Peace and Our Redeemer!!
Lord we will never have the answers here. So many are asking "Why?"
So many are asking the age-old question, "Why does God allow these bad things?"...
we know you did not create evil Lord...you created free will and evil men make evil choices.
One day we will be set free from all this pain and darkness and though we don't see everything clearly now...
there is one thing we see clearly and that is your truth and your love...
that you loved the world so much that you gave your son...born in a stable so long ago...
born to live, suffer and die to carry our sins and our pain and to pay a price that we couldn't,
so that if we believe, we might have eternal life...that is the truth we cling to today..
.that is the light that shines brightly in the darkness..
.the hope that drove the wise men to follow a bright and shining star in the east to find a babe in a manger...
a baby who was born a "wanted and hunted man" by evil men...
a baby who grew into a man who was well acquainted with grief and pain
so that we would have the hope in Him that one day
He would wipe away every tear and we would hear the words...
"No more, it is finished...no more pain, no more death,
no more poverty, no more sickness, no more disease...no more evil and no more tears!"
Thank you Jesus for your birth...may we cling to all that symbolizes in the days ahead.
We lift all those who are in shock and pain and dealing with unspeakable grief.
Oh, Jesus, may the hurting find you in the darkness and cling to you as their hope.
In your name we ask these things, Amen
Praying for the Lord's peace and comfort to be with you all today!

~ Locked In Forever Love ~
You will see those eyes , you will feel the arms that you crave, You will be captured in that sweet smile ever more.. You will be closer then, than in time's grasp before, For you are locked in eternal love.. Your love was not made for here, Your love was to keep.. For a far greater fusion- In heart, together you are with one another, Nothing tears you apart, no discord, Nor fear, nor torment of soul.. Stay excited sweets, just a blink and you'll be filled.. Overflowing with joy. Their love is perfected now, More perfect than you can e'er hold. When you gaze out the window, you will see with your heart, See their dance in completeness, walking in light. Released in your spirit, released in your soul, You'll be glad for your darling, Be glad they are whole. They will be laughing, not lonely for you, for to them You're already there, To them, time is no more. You walk with them there, as love never parts.. They cannot miss you, nor weep in the dark, For you are with them, in arms warmly kept. There is no time gap now, all is sealed- It may seem like they're gone, but it is just matter, Mere time and space, it's not what is real.. They're touching your spirit, they reach to your soul With a softness beyond, all you may feel, They are, in perfection, hearing your voice.. They are, where all is, walking your path.. Cry sweetheart, cry, but gaze through your tears They are not very far.. They are safe in His heart. When we are dealing with grief and loss, overwhelming burdens or things like depression or PTSD...
and then a natural disaster or a tragedy occurs that dominates in the media,
it is easy to be overcome by the news coverage.
You might find yourself becoming more depressed or taking steps backwards.
If this is the case, turn off the news and try to center your thoughts on the Lord and seek out His peace.
You can pray for the victims without watching the non-stop coverage.
That is helpful for those involved in the tragedy and helps you to take care of yourself as well.
Praying for God's peace and comfort for everyone
God brings peace in a miraculous way, when we ask and let Him answer..
