~ Our English Rose Garden ~
There is an inviting entrance to our garden, an arch for us to go on through
Beneath entwining shady branches, together, me and you
There is only beauty there, as we wander, arm in arm
Meandering into secret places, delighting, one in heart
Sharing sweetest fragrance, choosing pretty blooms
Exclaiming of the wonder, tucked within each arbor room
'Til a shady nook of coolness, calls for a cup of english tea
Here in our Sunbury garden, of roses velvet sweet-
Where you are always walking, a rose strewn path with me

A rose garden holds such lovely perfume; when it is shared,
it can transform the simplest moments into a beautiful gift of love

Let's....
Let's just don our walking shoes, right now, and go out for a run,
Out the gate, down the path, all gladsome, full of fun.
Let's drop all that we're doing, and not even fetch our hat,
For we won't need one where we are going, walking there and back.
Oh, let's pause a second to collect, a crunchy apple, sweet, to take,
As we race out, calling to the birds, in our merriment and haste.
Let's forget to leave a note, for now it's obvious where we are,
The gate swung wide, our footprints, scuffling up the snowy path.
Let's not tie our hair, but let it fly, in the wind and warm sunshine,
As we collect snowdrops, share delightedly, in the pretties that we find.
Oh, let's leave it all behind right now, and with God, just you and I,
We'll walk and talk and sigh, then rest upon a snowy bench,
forever more..til together in the sky.....

~ A Lovely English Garden ~
In a lovely garden we can feel alone, with a tender hearted need
God made us all to feel, no matter where we've been
In a garden we can find our place, for it's so nice to go
There to find the perfect rest, that we always long to know
We might be softly tickled, by a leaf upon a path
And somewhere there a whisper, may touch our gentle heart
That Jesus walks beside us, close within a garden's hush
The ache might then be-gone, as we look beyond to see
And talk to Him in wonder, to find the way to be.
Our Saviour's in a garden, for that is where He lives
In amongst His beauty, for all the beauty's His

~ On a Bank in Leeds ~
There's are flowers on a bank in Leeds, they sprout, unfold then blow
with beauty, but a moment, a little touch for us to know
They pop up with the morning sun, and bloom for all to see
The prettiness of petals made, only there to be
We too are flowers on a bank, to blossom on the earth
But shall not disappear, but hold a lasting worth
A flower has no hope ahead, no future to be lived
But, we will never fade away, because of life God gives
A flower's but a flash in time, not we, who never end
Our Jesus died so we won't die, if we ask to be His friend

~ Dewdrops Dipped In Honey ~
Dewdrops dipped in honey, we celebrate with joy
Our Father's always faithful, as promised in His word
Dewdrops dipped in honey, our Bridegroom is to us
Walking with us daily, our Saviour, friend, Jesus
Dewdrops dipped in honey, God's sweetness every day
Comforting our soul, fulfilling all our way
Dewdrops dipped in honey, salvation full and free
Forgiven and accepted, we are safe eternally
Dewdrops dipped in honey, butterflies with wings
Flying to our Father, beloved Lord and King

~ England Has A Beauty ~
Old England has a beauty, the cottage garden's beautiful
They speak to us of warmth and love, of family and of truth
Old England has the values, of goodness and of care
Where neighbours interracted and all their kindness shared
Old England has the pleasure of places that they viewed
Of heritage and beauty, to visit and peruse
Old England has belief in God, the mighty ruling King
May England never still the bells that always gladly ring
With love for God The Father, the source of life for all
The strength, the joy, the hope and love that makes a country whole

~ English Rose ~
An English rose of peace, for a kindred spirit sweet
And I know you also feel it.... This oneness of a peacefulness,
in the sharing of our secret joys and fears,
with a gentle comfort to dry up all our tears...
In our friendship held together by a petal soft like chain,
unbreakable, the unseen links that somehow bond us, in each thought and pain...
Some hidden intuition of gentle loving care,
causing us to find our Father, in everything we share...
The same faith we can nurture, while each hurt we kindly understand,
so that insecurities along life's pathway, cause us to reach, to hold each other's hand...
While the everlasting peace, that flows from God's most tender heart,
holds us in His love, a love that always can.

When you give it your all, but then comes a fall,
When life gives as it does, but you can't feel the love,
And the tears start to flow, blinding your eyes, and all hope for tomorrow, shrivels and dies,
God's love will guide you home, My friend and I will hold your hand.
Yes, I will be here, as much as I can. ~blossoms~

~Upon A Pretty Shore ~
Run, run into the wind, run, discover love
Lay and breathe upon a pretty shore, lay and find enough
Here there is a holiday, right here on England's grass
There is found a peaceful joy, a kindness that will last
You can browse the shopping malls, and walk the cobblestones
But to find for what you search, it's upon the grassy knolls,
Come rest your weariness, lay back and gaze on high
Watch birds in flight and clouds, as softly they float by
Dream long with eyes shut tight, dream of another life
Dream long of Jesus' heaven, dream long and then alight
Ask Jesus to forgive, then thank Him for release
Let Him have the sorrow, the pain and all the grief
Then a beauty He will paint, upon your soul today
A master art He'll work, upon your life to stay
From you a pretty waterfall, He'll gush for all to see
From you He'll flow a river, for all eternity

~Soft Hollyhocks For You~
For you I found sweet hollyhocks, pretty growing up,
For you there always will be hollyhocks, for you I'll always love.
Yes, pretty for your friendship, pretty for your tender heart,

Lovely for the dearest friend, my gift of love so true,
Please take a blossom, pluck each petal and know I think of you.

~ A Thatched Cottage ~
A thatched cottage may seem stable, on which we can depend,
A cottage looks so faithful, with a strength that never ends
But wood and thatch are physical and not a most sure thing
We can't rely on wood and stones, to take us where we'll be
We don't want a 'hope so' wait, with a wonder all unknown
But a hope assured in Father God, as a certainty to know
His hope we have, we are secure, no matter how earth shakes
We can be safe no matter storm, His care shall not abate
Hope we have, it cannot fade, when Jesus we now have
We can draw near to God today, of this we are so glad
We're right with God in Jesus' death, a peace with God we own
'Tis glory yet within the Lord, true hope is all we know
A storm may blow away our home, but our hearts are always kept
Held in the hand of God, our life, is so securely pledged.

~This Is My English Dream~
If we were English neighbours, then, this is what we'd do,
We'd build a gate there in the fence, so we could walk right through.
We'd sit upon our porch out back, and talk 'til sun has set,
And whistle with the nightingales, to both our heart's content.
We'd share our fresh baked cookies, or cakes we love to try,
At tea time in the mornings, or when the sun fades in the sky.
If one of us was sick, we'd know, 'cause curtains would be drawn,
And so we'd share some chicken soup- slipping in the rear door.
If we're popping to the shops, we'd check the other's needs,
And each day we'd take a healthy walk, down along the pretty creek.
Pretty flowers we would pick, always some for you and me,
And seeds and cuttings we would share, for, that's just how we'd be.
Each other's family we would know, by whoever comes and goes,
They would call out 'hello there' as they walked into our homes.
And if we went on holiday, for the other's house we'd care,
Feed the pets and water plants, as a neighbour 'being there'.
Oh, my dream's a little heaven, to have a neighbour near by,
To have a friend that close, would be a gift divine.
And yet as friends now, this is so, in heart and mind and dream,
'Cause friends are always, as near as God to us, for all eternity.

~ If I Could Give You Spring ~
If I could, I would pray for you, a forever English spring,
To break the freeze with everlasting gifts, so lovely,
for you to brush against your cheek.
If I could, I would pray for sunset's glow to touch your tender soul
with all the warmth that it imparts, and the dew of morning, soft,
to bless your gentle heart.
If I could, I would press into your hand,
the gift of unending love, that new life for you might come,
The colors of the rainbow
to overflow your world, with the carousel of fun.
If I could, I would pass your way and pray for you,
God's joy and sweet delight, the love of His everlasting life and warmth-
to fill your day with light, all, just as you would like.

There is nothing I can give you, but there is much, very much, that,

In England spring is pure delight, the dahlia's burst forth
As soon as snow is gone, new life is at the door
In England, we can see new life, wonder's ours to find
We only need look on the fields, and there is life divine
In England, there unfolds a vibrance beautiful
As soon as God's bright sunshine glows, new colour bursts anew
Skies turn from grey to blue, and heaven we can see
God's wonder, power and glory, where we all want to be.
In England bulbs all come alive, just like our bodies will
When Jesus comes to take us, and life's time is all fulfilled
Yes, England is a picture, of death becoming life
The cold of winter, turns to spring, of everlasting light

~ Sweet Things Of England ~
Snowflakes on noses and dewdrops that glisten, sunsets, all golden and soft, furry kittens
Raindrops in woodlands and star shining twilight,
such happy friendship from morning til night
Snowballs in winter, flowers in spring. leaves in the autumn, then summer we sing
Babies to cuddle, grandkids to love,
a friend just to share with and someone to hug
A flower's soft perfume their beauty to show, velvet rose friendships, so sweet to know
Such are the wonders, the joys that we like
God gives in ol' England, the beauty of life.

~ A Garden's Mystery ~
Is there a secret to an English garden, a mystery unseen
Is that why the flowers are so beautiful, of purity complete
No sin to spoil a petal, no hurt defile its form
A flower hides in darkness, yet each dawn it is re-born
Is that why we love English flowers, their secret our delight
They sing to us of Jesus and all His perfect light
We see His gentle hand, His beauty, tenderness
His colour, form, incandescence, His wondrous loveliness

And here we will walk, You and I, upon the path,
In a sweet English garden, so blessed of heart
Sometimes we will pause, and gaze... as we do
Without ne'er a word, just close, me and you.
And breathe in the fragrance of sweet bloom ladened air
Glad for the moments, the love that we share.
We shall walk as we sing, in our hearts, as we pray,
The joy here with Jesus, you and I, here today.
