~ Gentle Loving Father ~
Our Father we come to say thank You,
Wondrous One who made us all,
Our beloved Father up above, The One who makes us whole.
Our Father full of perfect love, The One who's life we share,
Who never ever goes away and every heartache bears.
The Father of our yesterdays, today, and for all time,
Close through all the darkest nights, and trusted to be kind.
The One to hear our every word, every thought to understand,
The One who keeps us evermore,
And holds us in His hand.

The Lord is my Father.
He keeps me alway and when I am willful,
and from Him I stray, He seeks me and finds me. He is not far away.
He guides me and shepherds me......day after day.

~ Our Perfect Father ~
We shan't dream on for perfect fathers ...
Nor ones we never had.
But for the life God gave,
We shall be ever glad.
For perfect fathers cannot be,
In all they struggle through-
Just as we face problems every day,
In all there is to do...
But we can be secure,
In our Heavenly Father's heart
The protection, comfort, joy...
He perfectly imparts.

Abide in Me: These words are the command of love, which is ever only a promise in a different shape.
Think of this until all feeling of burden and fear and despair pass away,
and the first thought that comes as you hear of 'abiding in Jesus' be one of bright and joyous hope.

~ Father Of Our Hearts ~
Mighty God, our Great Jehovah,
we know that You are near, though seem so very far,
We offer up our humble worship, our love, and all we meekly are.
We lift our hands, to You our King , The Maker of the sea and sky
Take our lips, Oh, Prince of Peace, we praise Your Name on high.
We are the weak, our way unknown, before You, we are still
'Tis You alone, draws near to us, to speak Your perfect will.
King of glory, Lord, Your Kingdom come this day,
Please accept our worship now, and all we long to say.
Our humble lips cry, Father please, come shelter us through storm
We trust You as our key to life, to open wide the door.

The Bible tells us that our times are in God’s hands.
God’s plans for our life cannot be frustrated by what others do or don’t do.
God knows where we’ve been, He knows where we are,
and He knows where He is leading us.
His plans for us are made according to His wisdom,
His love, and His power to perform them.
God wants us to move through this day with a quiet heart,
an inward assurance that He is in control,
a peaceful certainty that our life is in His hands,
a deep trust in His plan and purposes,
and a thankful disposition toward all that He allows.
He wants us to wait on Him and wait for Him.
In His perfect way He will put everything together
...see to every detail...arrange every circumstance...
and order every step to bring to pass what He has for us.

~ Knocking On The Door ~
The door, stood stoically before me, calling to my heart
Would I reach forth, knock tentatively, for all it may impart,
Might I recoil....or turn about, uncertain, what to grasp,
What love I most, what choose, that I would want to clasp.
Yes, open wide I must, there is naught to keep, no lasting love to ascertain,
No treasure, none to hold, nor guide to certain way.
There must be all beyond, a purity, a hope, I will step out to know.
I can't return to where I was, for I am going home.
Beyond, I see with eyes of faith, the cross a pathway sure,
A life eternal, I believe, is just beyond the door.

It is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence
that we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us,
as it stands knocking on the door of our hearts.
~K.T. Jong
I said to a man who stood at the gate of the year:
"Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown"; and he replied,
"Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God.
That shall be to you better than a light and safer than a known way!"
( M. L. Harkins)

How do we find the source of wealth,
Where is this treasure found,
We long now to discover,
Before to grave we're bound.
We long for satisfaction,
And want it all today,
But, shall we turn to what we see,
And miss the secret way.
There are the secret things of God,
He reveals to those who thirst,
Who look beyond the tangible,
And want to put Him first.
Paupers not, of glitter yet,
That offers empty thrill,
We have eternal wealth in Christ,
In Him we have our fill.

~ Forgiveness ~
Now, we may feel our shadows, sins, are blocking us from God,
And this is true, the heavy weight, does spoil the feel of love.
For God, we know is holy, perfect, and that, we never are,
So withdraw in guilt, law cannot keep, by action, word, or heart.
But, this our God, e'er knew, e'er cared, so sent His only Son,
To bear our sin, as us, He died, to offer us His love.
He didn't just apply a salve, but took, all guilt on Him,
God knew the law can't get us home, for good we aren't within.
Trying, effort, striving more, never helps us come to God,
For even in the trying hard, pride always is the goal.
And sure, we can't have heaven tainted, by sin, the lies and such,
For then it won't be heaven, and we crave the 'perfect' touch.
So Jesus broke sin's endless grip, by fulfilling God's own law,
Every blot, He took, by blood He shed, to open heaven's door.
And when we let Him take our sin, the shadows flee away,
His gift of grace just covers us, from laws we CAN'T obey.
Then, once the life of Christ we take, God's Spirit joins with ours,
Within His strength we are set free, and live by His own power.
Then all the 'must be's' go away, there is no need of 'try',
As what we do, is cast our soul, on Him, who comes inside.
Yes, Our dear Lord has born it all, for our new birth He died,
In HIM, we are, in joyful praise- Our spirit - purified.

But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.

If the Spirit of Him, who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised
Christ Jesus from the dead, will also give life to your mortal bodies,
through His Spirit, who dwells in you

~ What Happens To The Words ~
Whatever happens to the words, all the words we'd like to say,
The ones caught tightly in our throat, emotions steal away.
What happens to those tender words, that never get conveyed
Right to the very heart, that needed them today.
Where do words go, meant to be, yet forgotten over time
Never reaching their true destiny, a lonely soul to find.
Whatever happens to the sorry words, that are kidnapped by pride,
Stymied by a frozen wall - the solid stoic kind.
How will 'I love you' words be kept, if they are never said,
Drowned out by a busy life, remembered only in regret.
What happens to the gentle words, of encouragement hearts need,
When occupied with many things, but not with planting seeds.
Yet, what happens to those special words, the words we know to say,
Oh, so many folks are loved, if sweet words are shared today

~ Where Wonder Is ~
When...it all becomes too loud, clamouring 'pon heart and ear,
That's when we stay quite still, draw aside to soothe the fear.
For life can soon o'ershadow, with uncertainty and strife,
It's then, to stop and listen, for all that's good and right.
We cannot cease the barrage, of thought and struggle yet,
But, our Father has the power, to truly give us rest.
For there is nothing in this world, to calm a battered soul,
But, sitting still with Jesus, will surely make us whole.
As we stop and pause with Him, to allay our every fear,
He gives the very miracle. we're longing to draw near.
Lean in, upon His tender heart, for all He is within,
Breathe in, breathe out, relax, and very soon, you'll sing.
It is there, is found the wonder. where wonder is in all
Simply in His blessed peace, is where we are made whole

"Giver of gifts, thank you.....
When I was young and knew nothing, I asked for the sun....
You gave me a candle, which I put in my pocket, and now...a lifetime later, I found the match."

~ Knocking On The Door ~
Creation whispers, listen, hearken to the wind, rustling the trees,
leaves sway and fall, I don't know why, but,
there is God and I.
Eagle soars, the sky his home, the cliffside stark, I cannot fly,
grass grows beneath my feet, but here remains
my God and I.
It rains, the rivers roar, the endless rush, to flood the earth, or parched,
I softly pray, secure, in Father God am I.
The mountains high, the valleys deep, on rocks I slip,,
the path is steep, yet on we walk,
my God and I.
Each day, from dawn, 'til sunset red... in deepest night,
I'm not alone, for safe within God's love am I.

~ Quiet Reflections ~
It's when your heart is sad n' lonely, you cry unto the Lord,
When it feels like love has failed- He hears your every word.
It's when they pass you by, pursuing something more,
That you need a heavenly Father, to carry you through all.
It's when the night is darkest, you lean upon His breast,
For there, and there alone, is where the heart's at rest.
It's when the tears are flowing, that He comes with loving arms,
To hold you close forever, precious to His heart.
It's when the throat is tight, from the aching to belong,
He somehow gives your spirit wings, and fills your soul with song.

Prayer which takes the fact that past prayers have not been answered as
a reason for languor, has already ceased to be the prayer of faith.
To the prayer of faith the fact that prayers remain unanswered is only
evidence that the moment of the answer is so much nearer.
From first to last, the lessons and examples of our Lord all tell us
that prayer which cannot persevere and urge its plea importunately,
and renew, and renew itself again,
and gather strength from every past petition is not the
prayer that will prevail.
