~♥~ Mother's Day Rose ~♥~
I've been pondering on your special day and dreaming up a gift
Something that will touch your heart, yet, something I can give.
For, here I am so very far, too far to bake a cake,
No matter how delicious, for you I'd like to make.
Too far to have a visit, and take you out to tea,
To sit together in a cafe, and share a special treat.
Too far to bring a present and watch while you unwrap,
A gift that I could choose, your room to nicely match.
Yes, too far for that delight... But, for you I found a pretty rose,
Representing how I feel, just to let you always know-
My heart is with you Mother dear, with tender thoughts of love,
My prayer for you is somehow now, you will feel my gentle hug.

~♥~ For The Love Of Mother ~♥~
God gave to me a gift - God gave to me a soul,
God blessed me very 'specially - And that is not quite all.
For God gave to me a beauty - the truest heart to find,
God gave to me a mother who always will be mine.
God gave me life to live, my being all from you,
your beautiful soul bore me- No other one would do.
God gave to me a Mother, - He gave me all that's true,
For He gave His very best- when He said, I could have you
Love you forever Mum

If you were a flower I would choose you every time
There is no velvet so soft as a mother's lap
no rose as lovely as her smile, no path so flowery as that
imprinted with her footsteps.

~♥~ What Can I Give ~♥~
What gift within the universe could tell, what gift may have the worth, What gift express true gratitude. to the one who gave me birth. If I descended in the earth for riches, climbed mountain high for rarest bloom, Or traveled rivers, searching... I would never find enough for you. What could I ever give, my Mother, to repay for all your tears, Your tender care, your courageous spirit, unsung devotion, year after year. Yet, is there something you may cherish, more than any treasured work of art, For, might you know the most content - if I would give you, nothing more, nothing less- than all my loving heart. "A mother can read all the child-rearing books and can subscribe to any theory of parenting, but what gets passed along to her children is something far more intimate and mysterious than anything contained therein. What gets passed along is her character, and it enters into her child as surely and as inexorably as water flows from a fuller vessel into a less-full one." Laurence Shames "A gathering of roses -
God's gift of love for you May all your days o'erflow with joy and all your dreams come true." This heart, my own dear mother, bends, with love's true instinct, back to thee! ~Thomas Moore |

I reached deep into my heart, looking for the words to say,
I searched the recesses of my mind, for all I might convey.
I pondered long on all you've done, how I grew within your heart,
As you gave up your life to give, all you could impart.
I tried to compose something, remembering what only you and I can know,
As I felt a depth of emotion, about how I am your own.
Then I wondered if I could ever find the eloquence to express divine,
But I cannot find any greater words
than, thank you Mum,I love you Mother dear,
forever more you're mine.

~♥~ To A Special Mother ~♥~
A Mother never says goodbye,
for she is our heartbeat deep within,
We loved her, she loved us, before time could begin.
A Mother wafts in fragrance sweet, in the beauty of a day or colours in a room,
The fun of life or chocolate dreams, and the gentle face upon the moon.
She is in the wrapping of a cookie packet, the movement of our hand at will,
The turn of our smile, the way we walk, a caterpillar crawling on our window sill.
We see her in the bluest sky, in the shape of clouds all scudding by,
We hear her when we chuckle, her thoughts embedded deep inside.
And when we speak, oh there she is, in every word and song and rhyme,
Our mother, then can never die
When we are who she was,
time after time.

~♥~ Virtual Tea For You Mama ~♥~
When I knock on your door and call...tea service,
You won't reply...just a minute
Worried how you feel, but will quickly cry, Please, can you bring it.
And I will set down the tray, as we enjoy the aroma,
There's no fuss about stuff
For 'house proud' between us is just a misnomer.
You won't fix your hair... Or your face, you won't care, for you know I won't see...
As your heart I just know, there's more we can share.
You are quiet, I am still, so just sit and smile,
And reach for your hand... Be warm dear Mama, touched for a while...
There's birds at the window, as you sip at your tea,
We watch them at play, singing away, hearing all that they say.
You nibble your scone and give some to me,
So glad we are us, for we know forever
We'll always just be.

You're not alone, while passing through life's journey,
you have a friend to dry your every tear; You're not alone, although it might seem lonely, Our precious Lord will calm your every fear. So when some trial or grief is railing, and strength is slowly failing, Just pray and smile, through every mile, while you are going home; For, every moment on every pathway, The Saviour dear is with you come what may. |

A child is a canvas on which a mother paints the love and beauty of her soul
reflecting who she is and what is important to her,
her child tells her story and reveals the path of love within her heart
"Youth fades; love droops, the leaves of friendship fall;
A mother's secret hope outlives them all."
Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894)

~♥~ A Mother's Treasure ~♥~
My Mother's love lives on forever in my heart,
No matter where I roam, we shall never be apart.
For she wrote a letter, in the sand of time,
A lovely letter from her heart, that shall be forever mine.
Every thoughtful word and deed, that came so natural to her soul,
Wrote another chapter of her legacy, making up the whole.
The sum of which shall never die, for my mother's love will live forever,
In the lives of all she holds, of eternal treasure.

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by
dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers
and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends -- but
only one mother in the whole world.

~♥~ A Mother's Touch ~♥~
When I was growing as a little girl, my mother showed me how a life could be,
Though it might rain day after day, she lived a special life for me to see.
As through my childish eyes, in all my mother's heart,
I saw a nobler call for all, from birth pangs until now I watched her walk a chosen path.
It wasn't just a call of duty, but, a deep devotion true,
To set a tone within the home, a courage from a faith re-newed,
To hold out the word of life to all, and apply its hope in all we do.
With skill she watches every child, to see they're honed in every way,
Their minds and bodies, hearts and souls, talents, virtues, faults,
Her goal, with prayer, for God to shape the whole.
To build eternal destiny, for years her work's unseen at best,
With no fruit to glean from daily tasks, the growth of child so tender
While fed and nurtured in her nest.
No greater, more demanding work, will ever be her all,
No more inspring call, than forming an eternal soul
Much more than can be imagined, or dreamt, the need for more and more.
Dear God, give mothers of Your wisdom, Your mighty faith and love,
May Your Spirit raise from loving mothers, generations to come,
who will seek Your will above....For the world's desperate hope will ever be-
A Mother's heart down on her knees, devoted to her child eternally.

Joy is prayer - Joy is strength - Joy is love - Joy is a net of love by which
you can catch souls. God loves a cheerful giver.
She gives most who gives with joy.
The best way to show our gratitude to God and the people is to
accept everything with joy.
A joyful heart is the inevitable result of a heart burning with love.

We used to cry, oh my, so tired, the days will never end,
With all there is to do no rest to find, and little hearts to send
Please play outdoors....
But then, the door did close with finality, but then how could another time descend.
As now we long for cozy beds to be unmade and toys spread across the floor,
those sticky little fingers to paint patterns on the wall.
And pretty lacy dresses to hang neatly in their rows,
With pattering feet but flying by... Mummy please re-do my bows,
and the oven warming the kitchen, with dinners on the go,
And knowing where they were all day, every secret ours to know.
On the bench, a daisy to sadly droop, upon the fridge, a sketch "I did it just for you"
Would you put my hair up Mommy. Can I stay home today, I think I've got the flu.
I need a costume, tomorrow please, it has to be in green,
Can we find something to make a tree, to hide me, so I won't be seen.
No, I couldn't eat my lunch, because all day my tummy hurt.
Don't make me go tomorrow, I have paint all down my shirt.
Oh, where have all the giggles gone the fun, the games, the chase,
the smiles of pretty dimples, to gaze with love upon each face.
How slowly I watched them grow, but then, suddenly, where did all the precious moments go.
Now all I have is, thank You Father for the wonder and the blessing You wanted me to know.
But deep down I snuggle such a comfort, my children I will see always,
When we all, are up in heaven, once more, will be my joy,
To be with them everyday.

Oh mother dear I miss thee, thou art the fairest true,
Shall I tell so of the ways my heart doth grieve anew.
For each new day I see thee more in all I say and do,
The way my hands may move or how I speak like you,
I copy you a thousand times and then I miss you more,
which shows me as the years go by of all the love you bore.
My heart returns to all you sang the stories you might tell,
Your gentleness in dark of night the voice I knew so well.
Oh mother dear you're always mine, no other mother so divine,
Should I but share of all your ways
would be such blessing kind.

I've been searching for a gift, to give you from my heart
In gratitude for all you are, and all my love impart
But, a perfect present isn't so, nothing special can I find
To reflect all that I feel, for such a Mom divine
Then, I saw this and I knew, for a Mom so sweet and kind
The perfect gift would need to be, the loving gift of 'time'
So, take these lovely roses, and hold them...as you do
Let it represent the moments, days I'll gladly spend with you

~♥ ~ Mother Needles Me To Come ~ ♥~
To the fabric of my Mother's heart, today, I rise to treadle li'l soft,
For as I love my Mother sew, I've a notion just to zip across.
To her, I'll treadle li'l measured, ease and clip her way, to slip
All pressed to give, a li'l shy, cut up, stash piled with seamly gifts.
I will treadle li'l wear-ily, bobbin' dart with reel hole care,
To hook and eye my Mother, facing up a notch to share.
I'll butt-on in her nap to stay, pressed knot to pin her to the wall,
To reinforce the bias of my clasp, of her beloved toile in all.
For when I needle li'l patchin' tension looms and I needle li'l love,
I treadle li'l to my Mother, as she needles me to come.
Today is mounting up a thank you, so to finish, I'll treadle li'l path,
Where the thread of all is underpinned, gathered tightly in her heart.

We may wish to be a Mother; We may soon be a Mother;
We may be like a Mother; or..Someone may be like a Mother to us;

kind to a mother who is all alone on this day!
We may wish to be a Mother; We may soon be a Mother;
We may be like a Mother; or..Someone may be like a Mother to us;
We may be step Mothers;
No matter what...Make no mistake...We all had Mothers.
Let us celebrate this day together in memory, and in celebration
of all Mothers near and far, past and present.
If you cannot be with your mother, maybe you can do something
kind to a mother who is all alone on this day!
God created the rose in the likeness of a woman
The rose represents beauty - The stem represents strength
The petals are soft as skin - The fragrance pure & sweet.
The leaves represent arms out stretched, always loving, always giving.
Each time you look at a rose remember......
God Made you special
